why are religious people so hypocritical? they say that God is somehow using sickness to glorify himself, yet they go to the doctor and try to get rid of their sickness. they claim that God desires for them to experience poverty to "keep them humble", yet they all work jobs and demand paychecks! why do religious people claim that God needs everything from hurricanes, to cancer, to car accidents to "develop" or "correct" His children? is His Word really not enough to teach us all that we need to know? does God really need the work of His enemy in this earth (sin, evil, sickness, calamity, pain) to keep us dependent upon Himself? i don't believe He's quite that bankrupt. the bible says that love, joy, peace, patience, etc. are fruit of the spirit, not fruit of pain and suffering. God's Word is more than enough, if you'll just allow it to be. stop believing the lies that you've been told by religion. God has nothing but good and perfect things in store for you (James 1:17; Jeremiah 29:11). God is never the one causing problems in your life to test or tempt you (James 1:13). He promises to never be angry at you or say bitter words to you (Isaiah 54:9). He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). It is the thief who comes to steal, kill, and destroy.. but it is Jesus who comes to bring you abundant life (John 10:10). He is the only one that you can depend on to never hurt you and to never bring pain into your life. God is good, all the time. He loves you unconditionally. it doesn't matter who you are or what you've done. God's not mad at you, no matter what!
Matthew 11:28
"are you tired? worn out? burned out on religion? come to me. get away with me and you'll recover your life. i'll show you how to take a real rest."
-Jesus
