You've been planning and stressing for months, relatives and friends are traveling from far away to celebrate the most significant day of your life. Everything seems to be in order, the reception hall is beautifully decorated, people are looking their best while mingling, chatting and catching up with old friends and relatives. A rare and special day to say the least. Wine is pouring and high spirits fill the air in anticipation of the grand entrance of the Bride and Groom, the stars of the show. Thats right , Show! A wedding is a production much like a broadway show. Carefully scripted and performed with all the cues, prop's and set decor of a blockbuster. Your guests are seated, roaring conversation begins to soften as they patiently wait and watch the entry doors for the stars of the show to make their grand entrance. "Music Maestro"..."Music Maestro", somebody tell the DJ to start the music! Where's the music? Wait, it looks like the DJ is frantically wrestling with a maze of audio wiring and knobs...suddenly, silence and confusion begins to dampen the mood, something has gone wrong. For a moment everyone suspects that a minor technical malfuncion will soon be fixed and the show will go on. After all "Murpheys Law" has pinched all of us at one time or another. Although your guests are in the mood to be forgiving, soon minutes of silence and anticipation begin to feel like hours. Whats going on? Does this DJ know what he's doing? Did he run an equipment check before the event? Is he experienced? Who's going to MC and announce the names of the wedding party? Does he carry a back up system? Now what? Then out of nowhere, Cousin Bob makes a decision to anounce (over a cheazy podium microphone, feedback inluded) that he will proceed with the grand entrance without music. And so the doors open and Cousin Bob does his best to become the MC, a task he truly was not born to do. In they came, couple after couple as Cousin Bob did his best to pronounce all the names right, bless his heart. Well, the show went on and as it turned out the DJ managed to get things operating an hour late...no back up equipemnt! Did the show go on? Yes. Was it a smashing success? No, and all because an under-qualified and ill-equipped DJ was at the helm. I was the Father of the Bride that fateful day and actually had to pay the DJ in spite of his ineptitude. Thats when I decided to become a professional Wedding Music Coordinator. I began building a library of DJ music and have amassed over 75,000 songs plus 20,000 Karaoke tracks should someone want to dedicate and sing a special song. I handle Weddings all aver the Southern California area. I only work with the finest and most professional DJ's, MC's, Live Bands, Singers & Musicians available. eddiebmusic.biz
