this guide is about upcoming movies for next year and beyond. i still like going to the movie theater getting my ticket to watch a movie, then getting popcorn soda and all the good stuff that comes with that. then going to the theater itself  and sit in one of those comfortable chairs. then the lights dim down and the first thing that you watch are the movie previews of the upcoming movies that are coming out within the next few months. some of the previews are pretty cool to watch and others are out of curiosity. well i created this guide in order to help you decide sooner rather than later as to what movies you want to go watch and others are worth the wait to see.

national treasure 3. nicholas cage will be coming back to do the last movie in this chapter. a script has yet to surface but a date of 2010 has been suggested for the next movie. also in rumors is ghost rider 2 but nothing has surfaced as of yet. also another movie for nick cage is called knowing. this movie is coming out in 2009 and nicholas cage's character digs up an old time capsule that has predicted some of the events that have already taken place and some that is about to happen. interesting

ice age 3 dawn of dinosaurs. this movie will be coming out summer of 2009 and this will be a good movie. if you have seen the first two movies this one ought to be good.

alvin and the chipmunks 2. no known date as of yet but the first movie did very well so the sequel was bound to happen.

shrek goes fourth. this movie will be good and funny. everyone will be coming back for this movie and won't be out until 2010. also there is a sequel spinoff as well with the puss n boots cat.

night at the museum 2 battle of the smithsonian. this movie will be pretty good as well. this movie will come out in 2009 as well

the hobbit and part two. peter jackson will be directing these two movies prequels. the first part in 2011 and part 2 in 2012. with peter jackson at the helm these two movies will do very well.

toy story 3d. this will be a great movie with everyone coming back. in this movie everyone gets dumped into a daycare center and that would be a very funny movie. 2010 release for this movie.

hoodwinked 2 hood vs. evil. this movie will come out in 2010 and the first movie i thought was funny and this movie will be even better.

there are going to be a lot of remakes coming out within the next couple of years. the karate kid remake will be done as well and jackie chan will play the roll of mr miyagi. also the robocop was just announce for remake in 2010 and this is still in its early stages. also they are going to remake a nightmare on elm street and friday the 13th. both of these movies will come out in the next couple of years. also the sequel to freddy vs jason is still on and will be released in the very near future. also knight rider will be coming out in 2010. it is said that david hasselhoff will do a cameo and it will be a new cast and crew. also the movie version of the a team. michael bay is said to direct this movie and bruce willis and ice cube have explicit interest in this movie along with a few others. also the original cast members will make cameos in this movie as well.

angels and demons. this is the sequel to the da vinci code. tom hanks will back for this movie.

lots of video games to movies. spy hunter. this one will star dwayne the rock johnson and this movie will come out in 2009. streetfighter 2 the legend of chun li. this one will come out in 2009 and there is a rumor that the third movie will involve akuma long??? as well halo will be coming out in 2010 metal geat solid dragonballz gears of war the sims dance dance revolution legend of spyro tekken. prince of persia the sands of time ninja assassin i am not much of a gamer anymore but there are a couple of them i won't mind watching.

harry potter and the deathly hallows. this will be the last book and movie in this saga. this will be split into two parts the first in 2010 and the last in 2011.

kill bill volume 3. from what i understand that quentin tarrentino has filmed some scenes of this movie and put it away. then in 15 years will pull the footage out and make the movie as well. this will be interesting.

crank 2 high voltage. this movie will come out in 2009 and chelios has a new heart. this will be an interesting movie.

i robot 2. this movie is still in development and will be out in 2010 there is an unnamed i am legend prequel to be released in 2011.

x men origins magneto and wolverine will be out in 2009. these two movies are prequels and will tell how these two characters rose to power. also there has been talk about the next xmen movie. the next major character is going to be gambit. also vinnie jones who played juggernaut will be back he stated in an interview. but there won't be any other major characters. others will be coming back like nightcrawler and beast and other are coming into the picture. while i am on the subject of comic book movies, everyone has signed on to do fantastic four part 3. no script has been released as of yet. also thor will be out in 2010 and is in pre production. triple h is the fore runner to play thor. also ironman 2 in 2010. also captain america the first avenger wonder woman green lantern the flash and superman man of steel. the only problem when they do the avengers movie is that they are going with a bunch of no name people in hollywood. probably to save money. another good movie is g i joe the rise of cobra. also spider man 4 will be coming out in 2011 along with tobey mcguire and kirsten dunst. also there is no script as of yet and still in pre production. also there is a list of villains that will be in this movie like carnage the son of venom rhyno dr. octopus mr mysterio and lizard to name a few. also there is going to be a sequel to the dark knight and the casting is nearly done. johnny depp is cast to play the riddler along with a few other surprises in this movie. x men first class. this movie is slated for 2010 and it deals with some of the earlier x men and some of the team has been mention such as iceman rogue anel jubilee and shadowcat. how about bishop.

sin city 2 and three are going to be prequels to the original. part two coming out in 2010 and part 3 in 2011.

transformers 2 revenge of the fallen will be coming out in 2009. this to will be a great movie because michael bay will be directing.

alien vs predator 3. this movie is on hold until a script can be worked out.

mortal kombat 3. the script to this movie had to be trashed and will be out in 2010. the script was totally messed up and had to start from scratch. christopher walken is the only one cast so far and is still in pre production.

fast and the furious 4. this will come out in 2009. this will be a great movie because the first three movies were great. this is about the two main characters team up and help the feds bring down a heroin importer.

xxx the return of xander cage. this movie will be coming out in 2010 and is still declared in pre production.

there has been talk about the movie battlefield earth 2 for quite a while and this one is still up in the air. also there is a possible no go with alien 5. sigourney weaver has stated in an interiew that they took the character ripley as far as they can go but never say never on this.

terminator salvation. this one will be coming out in 2009. also there will be a different person playing john connor and a differet person playing the 800 series model. this movie won't be same without arnold because he made the terminator. also from what i understand arnold will have a 30 second spot in the movie, but that could be a rumor. also this movie is in post production. and speaking of arnold there was suppose to be a sequel to true lies but with arnold being a governor there is a solid chance this movie will never be made. but there is a script out there.

also there was talk about the movie under siege 3 and erika eleniak and steven segal to return for the third movie but that is just rumors for now. also will smith and tommy lee jones will be coming back for the men in black 3. both men have ideas on the movie so this will be interesting to see what will come of this movie.

the simpsons will be coming out with their sequel but no for a while sometime beyond 2010. also family guy will be coming out with their full legnth movie as well. seth macfarlane has a script and is going to push the movie over the top and get an r rating for this one. this one will come out late next year if not 2010 also watch for another star wars parody with family guy. this one will be called something something something dark side. also for you all futurama fans out there. matt groening wants to do a full legnth film or something along those lines for this one so watch for this.

the chronicles of narnia the voyage of the dawn treader. this one is about a trip across the sea on the dawn treader. this one will be coming out in 2010.

24 series. there is going to be a film about jack bauer before he joins the counter terrorism unit. this will be a great movie. also watch for kurtwood smith in the upcoming season. kurtwood also became the fourth person from the robocop movie to appear on 24. the other actors are ray wise paul mccrane and peter weller.

well that is it for now on this list of upcoming movies. i will keep this updated as much as i can for any movies that are upcoming.

2001 a space odyssey and its sequel 2010 are great movies. there has been talk about making its final sequel 3001 the final odyssey but no offical word has been ever confirmed. also alot of banned books are being consider for movies. the big one farenheit 451. i will have to dig a little futher and see if there are any other movies coming from really good books.

also another trend out there in hollywood other than great books being made into movies is television shows being made into serious movies. like i just mention 24 simpsons family guy futurama. don't be surprised if you see your favorite tv show being made into a movie. maybe csi miami, law and order. how about law and order. hill street blues. the tv shows are endless. like comic books. comic books are being made into movies. there is an endless supply of material.

in development there is going to be a scary movie 5 but the movie is still in development. also comig out in 2009 there is going to be a new star trek movie. this movie dates back to starfleet before the first voyage of the enterprise. this will be a younger crew of kirk spock and the rest of the crew. also leonard nimoy is going to make an appearance in the movie as well.

another movie that has just been announced is austin powers 4 slated for 2010. this movie will be funny like the others. how about mini me and fat bastard.

also another movie in development is pirates of the caribbean 4 slated for 2012. with the huge succes of the first three movies that is no surprise. also another one soon to be announced is hancock 2.

this was just announced with the success of twilight a sequel is planned for next november. this movie was the sleeper hit of the year.

the next remake of a classic movie is going to be tron 2.0 and this one is going to be in 3-d test footage has been done and the actual filming will start in the spring of 2009 and slated for release in 2011. this will be a great movie with the special effects being the way it is. also there has to be a great storyline to go with this movie as well to be a success.

butterfly effect revelation. this is another popular horror movie sequel and the plot is the main character is looking for the murderer of his girlfriend. this movie is close to being done and will be out in 2009.

goonies 2. this movie has been delayed for years. this would be a great sequel if they can come up with a great script and another adventure to one eyed willies treasure.

charlie chan. the granddaughter of the renown detective is trying to make a name for herself in the world of crimebusting. this will be out in 2009.

a christmas carol. this will be out next year around the holidays and the director of this movie is robert zemeckis. this movie is about the retelling of a charles dickens novel about christmas past present and future. this in my opinion will be a great movie.

disney has a few movies scheduled to come out. one is called up in 3d. this one is coming out in 2009 and this one looks like a pretty good funny movie. also cars 2 is scheduled for 2011. and another one from pixar is newt coming out in 2012. this one is about newt and brooke living in a community college science lab. they don't care for each other but are forced to mate if they want to save the species.

and form dreamworks animation there is one called monsters vs aliens coming out early 2009. also announced was kung fu panda just announced and will probably be out in 2010 or later.

also another movie coming out in 2009 is the popular book he's just not into you. this one has and allstar lineup and this one has to be funny as well.

with the new year here, and with so many advances with movie making nowadays, alot of the movies this year will be mad in 3-d. pixar and dreamworks will be doing a lot of them. also horror movies will be the big thing this year. another saw movie i slated to be released this year along with remakes of other popular ones freddy kruger and jason. also the jonas brothers and hannah montana will be coming out with their movies this year as well.

another movie coming out this year by james cameron and sigourney weaver is avatar. this movie has a large budget between 250 and 300 million. for that price the movie has to have a great story line and super special effects.

also another movie you must go watch is gran torino with clint eastwood. this is one of the must see movies of the year. and clint eastwood does a great job in this one. if you are looking for great movie to watch go watch this one. this is my opinion of course but if you like watching movies this one is that good.

allright you sex and the city fans. all of the cast members have signed on to do a sequel to the tv show/movie with a realese date of early next year.

a script does exist for the x-men origins magneto but the movie is waiting for the green light. it is suspected that they are waiting for the release of x-men origins wolverine to see what the movie does in terms if the movie is successful.

the next lara croft movie has been announced and anjelina jolie will not be the cast for that role. it will more than likely go to megan fox. this will be an interesting movie for next year.

another great movie that looks great coming out shortly is watchmen. looks like a great movie and worth the watch. also another judge dredd movie has just been announced for 2012. not sure if it a sequel or a remake at this point but should be better than the first movie. also would be pretty cool would be the abc warrior hammerstien. also another great movie would be about the volgan wars clone wars. but anything is possible.

also for another great movie that might be a sequel if not a remake is the last starfighter. release date for this movie would be sometime next year. also disney is looking into the movie the black hole as a remake but nothing is written in stone.

a remake of the movie missing in action has been announced. the original to this movie was done by chuck norris.  since this movie has been announced the lead actor has yet to be named and a script has yet to be done.

watch for more comic books being turned into movies. there are lots of different comic books out there so there is a lot of material to be had. also tv shows are a big hit as well. so don't be surprised to see your favorite tv show or comic book turned into a movie. also hollywood has to come out with other great movies like the shawshank redemption or any kind of movie along those lines.

all right you three stooges fan. mgm studios is closing in on getting the actors to play the three stooges. this is going to be a full legnth movie and that would be pretty interesting to watch. sean penn has signed on. also jim carrey is in talks but needs to gain 40 pounds to carry the role and benicio del toro is also in the mix for this movie. if the studio gets its way filming would start this fall and will be out next year. something to think about for upcoming movies. may abbot and costello next laurel and hardy maybe. you just never know whats going to happen next for movies.

also another summer movie is dance flick. this movie has damon wayans jr. anything form the wayans family is funny and the trailer looked good. also another summer movie is taking woodstock. this movie is about woodstock 1969. very interesting there.  will ferrell is coming out with a new moie land of the lost. i am not much of a fan but this movie looks to be very funny if you are looking for something like that. the new star trek movie looks good but i personally think they took the franchise as far as they can go but never say never. terminator salvation looks good in the previews but the actual movie would be interesting. a friend of mine saw the x men origins wolverine. you know the incident when someone on the crew released the movie without the special effects. he told me other than not having special effects the movie is great lots of action. if this movie does well the next movie is going to be magneto.

spider man 4 got the green light and solid chance its going to be carnage in this movie. also another remake is going to be the last starfighter. this is going to be a remake instead of a sequel.

allright you battlestar galactica fans. they are in talks with universal pictures to do this movie. but there is a catch. it is not going to be based on the sci-fi channels reimagined series. as it turns out they are going to go back to the original series and do a major movie on that with killer special effects and all the good juicy stuff in this one. this movie is still in the pre production slated for sometime in 2011.

a green light has been given for the next national treasure movie and will be out in 2011. also a green light has been given to remake a nightmare on elm street as well. unfortunately the original freddy krueger robert englund will not be portraying this roll but will make a special apperance in the movie. jakie haley will play the roll of krueger. interesting.

also there is going to be a national treasure 4. over the next few years there will be lots of remakes of lots of the older movies out there.

another remake movie that is still in the pre-production stages. in the process in talking with a major studio. the remake movie is berry gordy's the last dragon. berry's son will be working with this movie and to play sho'nuffs role is going to be samuel l. jackson. also rihanna is in prelim talks to do this movie as well. this movie is in the early stages so anything is possible with this movie.

looks like stallone will be doing another rambo movie but that is a rumor at this point. i personally think they took that character as far as they can go. also another movie that he is working on is called the expendables. this movie is about a bunch of mercenaries heading to south america to over throw a dictator. also governor arnold is going to be in this one as well. this will be an interesting movie as well.

rumors have ended and men in black three will be coming out july 2011. and michael bay will be directing. will smith and tommy lee jones really want to do another movie and its just when the script will come out and everything gets going.

there is a new peter jackson movie coming out in a couple of weeks and a friend sent me a quick glimpse into this movie. anything from peter jackson is worth the time to watch and this movie looks intense as well.

well the summer is over and here comes the really good movies coming up. the first is 2012 with john cusak. about the planet getting smoked. another one with matt damon called the informant. this one is creating a lot of buzz and worth the time to watch. a long time coming is a jim cameron movie called avatar. this one looks great and another good movie to watch. the sequel to twilight saga called new moon. if you like zombies, here comes a movie called zombieland. i haven't heard of anything on this movie sound like another horror. also robert downy, jr. is starring in the movie sherlock holmes. this one is coming out around christmas and this one should be a great movie to watch. also clint eastwood is going to direct another movie called invictus. this one is about nelson mandela and its starring morgan freeman and matt damon is attached to this one as well. i hope to post more upcoming movies here in the future.
