I've been asked to share my knot tying secret ... so here it is.  For all you do-it-yourselfers and craft lovers out there who love to create their own projects, I applaud your work ethic and love of crafting.  To all of you that have listed me as a favourite seller, I thank you.   To all of you that love my invitation designs but cannot afford them and would love to duplicate them for your own wedding, here is the "secret sauce" for the "flat tuxedo bows" that I use on some of the Tiffany Blue, Chic Chocolate, Black & White, and Golden Definition series.

1.  cut a piece of 3/8 inch satin ribbon 30 cm long (about 12 inches)

2.  make 2 peaks about 10 cm in from both ends

3.  cross left peak over right peak

4.  wrap left peak around right peak and through the small opening so that left peak pulls back out front

5.  pull both left peak and right peak at same time

6.  ensure that the opposite ends of peaks align with top and bottom edges of both peaks and the opposite end pieces are flat against the peaks you are pulling

7.  if you are using single sided ribbon, then ensure that one side is facing nice side up; this will be the side that is top facing (the "best camera side of ribbon")

8.  tweak the bow until both ends are equidistant from centre (this will require some pulling and letting loose of ends; it may take a few tries to get it right)

9.  PRACTISE PRACTISE PRACTISE.  It used to take me 2 minutes or more to make a single flat tuxedo bow ribbon.  Now it takes me about 15-20 seconds and I can do it with my eyes closed or while I'm watching Jeopardy or the Amazing Race or Heroes.  You'll get there.

Thanks for learning more about me, for looking at my card designs, and for giving me all that positive feedback and encouragement.

While I would love to sell you my cards, I would love more to see you get the wedding of your dreams.  If making the invitations or the ribbons yourself is part of what makes the process ideal, then I hope this helps.

If you've purchased my cards or already had a wedding but love my cards, then please pass the word.  I'm easy to get along with, I listen well, and I respond quickly to queries and I love to make cards.
