For some reason the powersport area seems to have a great number of scams. Here's how to protect yourself.
Never never pay cash unless you are physically present with the machine and can drive it away. And nerver use Western Union, if they are in a hurry for the money, INSIST on Pay Pal or Visa.
Never follow a link in an email from a buyer especially if they do not have an email sent through My Messages.
Never believe the free shipping thing, the reason it is free is they don't ship it!
If you do a search for a specific item, Kawasaki Mules seem to be a favourite, after you get on the listing page, check to see what it is listed under. I have found Mules under grandfather clocks and recipies! That is a good clue the person is not on the up and up.
If the person has a good feedback but it looks like a scam, send the seller a message by clicking on the button to the right of the item heading under the name and feedback number. It is amazing to me how many "sellers" email me back saying the account was hijacked.
If the seller has an email address in the description, Nover, Nerver use it, always go through the EBay system. You have less chance of your account being hijacked.
With some common sense and a "Buyer beware" attitude, EBay can be a great place for bargains.
