Their are many cameras out on the market today that range in price from $200 to about $10.000. finding the right camera for you my be tough. you can go to a store an look at all types of camera from small to large to compact to different in style. Their is a big difference in one camera to another such as how it records. In the list below will show up what to look for in recording.

Ways of recording

  1.  Hi 8 recording ( ok for a starter)
  2. Digital 8 ( alright but getting old its like hi 8 film)
  3. Mini DV (Very good as close as you can get to film now)
  4. Tapeless recording ( Very good easy to save you homevideos)
  5. HD (The best of the Best but theses tapes are the most.)

another thing you must look at with a camera is the CCD size (how the video is picked up through the cameras lens.) A good camera will have 3ccd, cause that is the best of the best in video today. A 3ccd camera will take in the light to its Three prisms fix in the camera. the light will split into three colors. Red, Blue, and green.(also known as RGB)

HD Cameras

An Hd camera will be good if you want to spend a good amount o money. every camera out their today has an HD camera out on the Market. Sony has three cameras that are in HD now they are HDR-HC1 that will range from $1200. The other camera is the HDR-FX1. the Hdr FX1 is one of my favorite cameras cause you can film on hd or go back to hd recording. Panasonic has just came out with the best hd camera ever. its name is the AG-hvx200. you have a flash card in this camera to record on.(like a hard drive but you can take them out.) if you want to make a really good film adout something, this camera will do the job the best way and also take a lot of money out of your pocket $5,995. the lens has a built in wide angle lens so you can get things that are close to you in the shot.
