I recently purchased a 8x8mm princess cut lab diamond from eBay member oplusg4ever for $6.21 + $8.99 s/h. Thinking this was better than Cubic Zirconia (CZ) I decided to try it out. If you look on the superiorlabgems website you will see that their product is just about the same as a real diamond (hardness 9.5, specific gravity 3.52, index of refraction 2.417, and optical dispersion of 0.044). I emailed the seller (after I received it) and he assured me this was just Cubic Zirconia. Cubic Zirconia does not have the same properties as diamond! I later got the same stone on eBay for $0.99 including s/h. I saw one person purchase a 6.5mm round stone for $30 + $8.99 s/h and I saw another site selling the exact same stone for $33 but this other site was selling 49 more (50 for $33)!! To make matters worse on his website he has the 8x8mm princess cut stone selling for $79.00! You can buy 50 of these exact same CZ stones (AAAAA grade) for $45 on another site!
I gave him negative feedback for false advertising. I later requested my money back through paypal and the seller promptly gave me a full refund. Not only that but when I asked the seller what address to ship it back he told me to keep it. So I guess his stones are pretty much worthless...
Can you tell the difference?
