The condition of the record and the lp cover is very important to collectors. Many times the collector will be buying your record to replace the same record they already own.

Avoiding shipping damage is so important to a successful transaction it cannot be overstated.

Ship with care because  LP covers can get dented corners and seam-splits from shipping damage. The record is fairly sharp and when the package is shaken for hundreds of miles in a big vibrating truck the lp can split the record cover (seam split).

Remember, in my humble opinion, the post office or any other carrier you use to ship your products will literally toss these packages around.

Please make sure the LP cover does not touch the mailer box on the inside, so when the mailer box gets dented on the outside corner, the LP cover is far enough away so it will not get damaged.

BE SURE TO REMOVE THE RECORD FORM IT'S COVER TO STOP SEAM-SPLITS

Remove the lp from its cover, keep the lp in it's innersleeve
Wrap LP together with the cover securely, wrap with bubble wrap or newspaper and tape securely.

I have had new sealed LP's with seam splits because the  record was able to move around in mailer box.

A good quality box is important I use the Priority mailer boxes from the post office these are free with labels so you can spend a little extra on packaging materials.

Another good idea is to take a strong piece of cardboard a  little bit bigger than the lp cover and sandwich the (wrapped lp and cover), then tape this sandwich together.  place this in your mailer-box if you need to you can stuff some newspaper or other like materials around the wrapped lp and cover to keep them in place securely inside the mailer box.

Here is a copy of one of my feedback responses

I have been getting emails concerning the type of Priority mailer box used the item # is 0-1095

with this Priority mailer box this is how I packaged the lp's

Well I just wrapped the LP or LP's with bubble wrap twice one time in each direction sometimes only once just to secure them together, thats why I belive newspaper would also work. You need the lp to fit snugly inside the box and sometimes the lp will have to be slid into the box crossways because the lp is just slightly wider than the box, but this  provides for a very secure fit.  I needed to put something at the ends because the box is to long so we had a material at work that is like a plastic styrofoam.
I cut that material so it would fill the gap between the lp and the end of the mailerbox on both ends. You don't have to fill the entire end of the mailerbox just cut a peice into a square the same height as the box end. Then put this between the lp and the end of the mailerbox on both ends. If the block is to long and you can''t get the endflaps of the box closed the just cut a slot into the block large enough for the wrapped lp to fit into. The block keeps the LP from moving around inside, and at the same time it reinforces the the box so you could put a lot a weight or force on the box. You could also I belive pack alot of newspaper into the ends of the mailer box to secure the LP and ensure that the lp is not near the corners where all the shipping damage usually occurs.

I hope this helps, if you have any questions please email me
