I have learned the hard way! If you are selling ANYTHING electronic, make sure you test it before you list it...if it works, tell bidders it works, if it doesn't work, tell them you tested it and what the problem was....this is simple, and common sense...well...here's where i messed up...
I sent an item that was in working order....buyer got it, then claimed it DIDN'T work. Okay, whatever, I know it did, but some people just change their minds...so i waited for the item to be returned....
When i got the item, it was missing some KEY COMPONENTS!! The buyer had robbed the parts he needed off my item, then sent back what he didn't need!! And..per pay pal policy, if a buyer shows proof that he returned ANYTHING at all to the seller, he is intitled to a refund!!!
Basically, if a seller sells a $50,000 diamond ring to someone, and ships it to them with a package weight of 3 ounces...the buyer gets it, files a "item not as described claim", and when pay pal tells them to return package, sends you a box with 3 ounces of paper in it..they get their $50,000 REFUNDED!!
SO>>>>WHEN SELLING ELECTRONICS>>>BE VERY SPECIFIC!!! SHOW LOTS OF PICTURES< ( i did not do this, and pay pal said it MIGHT of made a difference if i could prove it was parted out)...picture serial number...inside of electronic if you can open it without damaging it....and sell ELECTRONICS with NO REFUNDS! ( they can still try and get you to refund, but it's a little harder to do.)
If this article helps at least ONE person, I will be very happy! I learned the hard way...lost over $500 AND MY ITEM!
