"A Guide and Instructions Manual" for my successes for "Repair" ,"Removing Stains", for items you want to "Sell on Ebay" or "Collectibles" for your home.
Ink on a shirt or carpet or any other washable material? Use women's hair spray. I use maximum hold "Suave"and it will get ink out of about anything. Just spray the item with the hairspray, take a toothbrush that is medium to firm and brush the item. Rinse the item and do it over again, until the spot is gone. The ink will disappear and the hairspray will wash out in the rinse. This worked on my mother's new carpet when an ink pen broke on tan carpet. This will allow you to buy toddler and childrens items cheap and then place them on Ebay for profit.
My upright carpet shampooer container keeps breaking with use. I super glued a popsicle stick on top of the crack in the lid and it doesn't leak or come apart. Same machine, the front of the machine keeps chipping when you bump the wall. I took a spatula and pulled it off of the handle. Then I took the rubber, where it attaches to the handle and cut it to fit my machine and super glued it to my machine at the corners, where they were broken. The machine works great and I no longer chip the front of it when I clean the carpet.
Goop or hand cleaner gets out very stubborn stains on clothes. Just smear the item with the hand cleaner and throw it in the wash. Also, Dawn dishwashing detergent takes out grease on clothes and is really cheap to use.
Do you have a problem with your dogs chewing your cable wire that is running into your house? Just buy a metal fence post, available at local hardware and supply stores, and knock it into the ground in front of the wires. Then you can put the wires behind the post and duct tape the wire in a couple of spots, if needed. This has worked like a charm for us.
Do you want a pot or pan to resale on Ebay but it is burned? Soak it in vinegar and water and the burnt spots will come off easily.
Do you have a favorite pair of jeans that have gotten a hole in them and you want a solution that looks really well? I have the solution. When you wash your clothes and the lint filter has that blue lint from the jeans that you just washed? Save the lint in a plastic bag. Just one little bag will do. Then when the jeans need repair, place the lint over the top of the hole, put a little piece of material (lightweight) under the hole, and zigzag over the top of the lint with matching thread. This makes a strong and very unoticible repair.
Has a zipper broken on your item and you are heartsick? Unzip the item and clip the zipper right under the last tooth on the opposite side from the side of the zipper that is still holding the zipping device. You can then slide the tooth from the side of the zipper that is broke, into the zipping device and sip it up. Then, before you forget, you will have to take a needle and thread and sew the bottom of the zipper from the underside to keep the zipper from slidding off of the track again.
Do you have some old wallpaper and there is a hole that you cannot repair, because you no longer have anymore paper? Take a picture of the paper with your digital camera and download it into your computer. You can then play with the size of the fonts, until you get the measurement right and print out a colored print of your paper to use for the repair.
Have you spilled a little bleach on a colored item and now it is white? You can buy "permanent markers" and easily repair almost anything. Just fill in the white spot with the appropriate color.
Carpet burned with cigarettes? You can clip the tip of the carpet fibers that are in the same room and then "superglue" the fibers on top of the burn. It will be unnoticible.
You can do a quick cleanup on carpet stains by using shaving cream. Just spray the spot with the shaving cream and rub it in with a wet rag. Then remove the cream, and the stain, with a clean damp rag.
