When a seller states this in the ad, it means he has a storefront or office site, and the items are available to walk-in customers. This is usually true for higher ticket items like autos, antique pocket watches, jewelry, etc. In the event the auction item is sold to a walk-in customer, the seller will cancel all bids first, then end the auction. You won't lose anything. I hope this clears it up for you and others. Charles.
