example:  kdrsales, a member here purchased an item.  he emailed me once and told me he received the item and wondered if i had any other items for the same model bike.  i didnt hear from him ever again.  i did hear from paypal on exactly 75 days after the sale.  they informed me that the buyer kdrsales had issued a charge-back with his visa on the item i sold him, and removed the funds with shipping from my account.  paypal told me to assist them in protecting me by sending information contrary to the claim........ fax and data showing the item had been shipped, tracked, and received by the buyer.  so i did.  i looked up my dhl invoice, did a web search on their site for the delivery and it showed that the driver had delivered the item, and the buyer had signed for it.  i sent paypal the website, tracking number, copy of the shipping invoice, electronic email so they could also track the shipment online.  this information was also faxed to paypal.  i then went into kdrsales feedback and noticed that he had done the same exact thing on two sales to the same buyer previously.  so i brought that to the attention of paypal. 

i received a boiler plate notice from paypal thanking me for the information, by email and fax, and they were on the way to protect me. 

the customary 30 days go by and guess what?????  paypal takes the funds they had on hold and tell me that i was not able to prove that the buyer had received the package.  you see my email from him that is logged in my ebay account messages from him didnt count.  my tracking through dhl with his signing for it didnt count.  it didnt matter that he has a past history of the same scam.  paypal told me that since i couldnt prove with an ink on paper signiture or an eye witness that he had signed for it i was out and that i should take better steps in the future to protect my account. !!!???!!!???.  paypal said that they may have been able to protect me had i taken better steps in the shipping of the item.???? 

here is the lesson for all you out there that even hope that paypal is going to assist a buyer...... dont trust paypal.  my tracking etc went beyond what is called for in the ebay, paypal seller protection section on how to protect yourself in shipping.  i made two requests to paypal to put me in contact with the visa company as if i were a store merchant and this had happened i would be in direct contact with visa on this matter.  paypal refused to forward onto me this information. 

so watch out for how you accept payments on ebay.  i have learned my lesson.  i set a ALL my sales up to not accept paypal.  then i weed through the buyers and if they have a good feedback history and high number i consider accepting paypal from them.
