Use caution when buying unseen cars on ebay. I almost got taken after winning the bid on a 2000 lincoln town car. I sent the guy the money after he sent me the title.
They were selling me a "true mileage unknown" car as a 72,000 car. they never disclosed the mileage to be unknown and even altered the title with a pen. A conversation with the previous owner revealed that it was in excess of 200,000 miles.
I was tipped off when he wanted to leave the car at the airport for me to pick up. Major red flag.
After several ugly phone conversations, and threats from him to kick my ..., I got my money back.
They were doing business out of Boca Raton, Fl as Top Two USA and/or Auto Network, Inc. real Soprano types.
My case has been turned over to the Tennessee Dept. of Safety and the Fraud Dividion of the NTSB.
They have been removed as ebay users as blessed_florida_family. Anyone pretending to be a sweet young family type or using a name that conjures up a sweet image is trouble.
Their feedback was sparse as well, it appeared to have been self manufactured.
I was only out 2 one way airline tickets, but came real close to having a car that was not able to be titled in Tennessee.
