My cell phone did fall in the water via the swimming pool when I jumped in. On a very hot day I had taken my grandson swimming So I placed my phone in my bosom (generally a safe place) to avoid the danger of getting splashed water on my cell. My grandson pleaded and pleaded "Nana get in the pool and swim with me pleeeease" I finally caved in and jumped right in, neglecting to take my phone out of my bosom. the little lighted window was filled with water (but the light still worked !!!!)
When we got back home, I called cingular right away, I was told my contract wouldn't be up for 6 months and until then i couldn't get a discounted phone. I went down to cingular that very day with the intention to buy a phone, only to find I didn't have enough money to do so. I ended up going to Walmart and buying an 18.95 "Go Phone, along with a 40. 00 card. A few days later I placed my sim card from my drowned cell phone into the go phone and it worked!
