Musical lighters from the 1960s and before, have become highly collectible.  Blue Bird or Hudson brand from Japan is the most recognized.  But other makers like Supreme, Aria and Vulcan also made musical lighters. 

There are art deco styles, classic stainless steel lighters, as well as many branded lighters.  Coca Cola and Pepsi lighters, with dual collectors, bring the highest value today. 

other fancy styles, are collected for their art value, the value of the music, and design. 

You simply wind up the music box on the back of the lighter, then when you push the striker to get a flame, the music begins to play.  A small button on the back can be switched to turn the music off. 

While only a small portion of the cigarette lighter industry, today they have become very collectible.
