The album The Cry Of Love is a perfect portrayal of exactly what Jimi Hendrix was: way ahead of his time. From the Starting track, freedom, all the way through the finishing track, 'Belly Button Window', Jimi showed that he wasn't messing around. This music was virtually space age, when compared to the musicians he was up against. He filled this album with 10 great tracks without a single filler of music that experimented with perfectly placed effects and lyrics that could be related to the trippy crowd that was meant to hear it. Digging down into Jimi's soul of, as he put it, "butterfly's and zebras, in a fairy tale..."this album was perfect. Unfortunately, Jimi died on september 18th 1970, just barely after recording this album. This album was still produced and sold though, as a final mark of a passed legend and hero to all musicians and even to the common listener. Filled with songs about love, life, happiness and struggles, which of course can be overcome, this album is one of the greatest of all time, and is a must buy for all. From people who are just experimenting with classic rock, to the well seasoned rocker you cant go wrong with this album. As Jimi himself put it, "dont you worry bout today, we got freedom comin' our way". Let that freedom grow, get this album.
On a scale of 1-5 I would give this album a 5 without question.
