FOR ME---I know two things (and this is a change from a couple years ago when I used to feature my art work with great success...sometimes drawing one or two THOUSAND new potential collectors to my eBay Gallery!)....- 1. purchasing FEATURED PLUS for 19.95 is like flushing your money down the toilet. MY ten day auction count barely made it over 40! -2. I also know that many more customers are now using and featuring their art work than a couple years ago, so the sheer amount of pages a potential collector must scroll through is mind-boggling!
Now (as a further experiment) I have tried the 49.95 deal. the "might get shown on the front page thing"...and so far, the counter is NOT jumping! It is at eight, and I listed the piece over 5 hours ago...
UPDATE:
Now five days left in the auction and my counter is at 119 or so...pretty good, but nothing like the "good old days" before the eBay was flooded by other "artists" mass producing work on canvas via a mechanized printing processes. Well, God Bless them! Serioulsy, everyone gets to do their thing in what is (Thank God) left of this free market society. And that makes me really happy and jazzed!
W we'll see what the final count is, after the ten day auction is up, and if the FEATURED auction results in a sale of one of my paintings.
final count- about 200. not great... but maybe led some new collectors to my Gallery...
My opinion? almost 60 bucks to lead new Collectors to a real art gallery? sad. sad....eBay- get it together PLEASE!!!
