ice cream trucks for sale Many people are looking to buy an ice cream truck and call me all the time for advise.There are alot of trucks for sale on ebay and before you even think of buying a truck you must do your research first.You must be careful of what you buy, a Truck is not a truck they are not all alike and alot of them are not even functionable.Be very careful from who you buy a truck from, check there feedback and see if they have sold a truck before or are they just unloading a truck that has alot of problems and just does not work.
Asked them who build the truck if they did if it was a homemade truck or if it was profesionally built.Get an opinion from an expert before you buy a truck.
Ask the seller if they provide training on the truck,ask them if you can see all they equipment in operating order,Ask them when was the truck last used,ask them if the truck works all the time or just sometime.
We have been building trucks for 25 years and have made many changes to keep up with the times in making an ice cream truck able to work a 12 hour day,ask them why are they selling the truck or are they just getting rid of there headache to you.
You just cant buy a truck and put a machine in it and put a generator in it and cut out windows and go.There will be many problems that you will encounter costing you thousands in repairs and lost of sales.
Over the last few years I have received calls from people in desperation telling me that they have purchased a soft serve truck and they truck is not in working order.Not all the equipment out there will work in an ice cream truck,not all generators will work in an ice cream truck,there are many variables in putting together a good truck that you can work with and get your a return on your hard earned investment.
The people that called me and told me that there truck was not working properly had all mismatched equipment and equipment that does not function well in a truck.Some ice cream machine do not well at all and some really work good in a truck.There are pressurized machines and gravity machines,there are single phased machines and 3 phase machines,there is air cooled machines and water cooler machines,there are electronic machines and regular contactor machine.

Always beware of sellers with 0 feedback and ask why they do not have any feedback at all.
You can make a really good income in the ice cream truck business but you must have a truck that is eye appealing with alot of fancy exterior chrome and stainless steel trim and chrome wheels.
Another very important item is to make sure the ice cream truck has all the required safety items attached to the truck such as ,safety swing out sign , roof flashers , back up alarm , safety mirrows for front and back of truck , rear safety bumper so no kids will jump on the back of your truck , no rear door handle so they cant hand on to the rear of the truck ,exterior florescent lighting all around the truck even the back so that oncoming cars can see your customers from far , watch for children on the back doors in yellow and black . You must do all you can to make sure your customers are protected when they come to buy your ice cream.
The year of the truck does not matter ,it depends when the truck was converted. I have 1971 trucks that I would never sell and 1977 that I was offered 60,000.00usd and refused to sell. I am currently doing a 1960 conversion that will have 80,000.00 USD in it and that truck will not be for sale. It all depends when the trucks was built and how it was maintained to have a good operating truck.
Your sales will be more than double than a regular truck.

Please keep in mind when you are looking to buy a truck the best time to buy and the best prices are from October to Feb...anytime after that you will be paying a higher price with the season starting up.
