hello, I know i am not a major seller, buyer or top notch ebayer as a matter of fact, but i do collect uniforms and thought this guide may be useful to newer people to the hobby.
when it comes to collecting uniforms the first thing you have got to do is prepare a space for your new hobby, for cloths and paintings or anything with color for that matter you should choose a darker room and preferably have some sort of wardrobe, you need a darker aarea with limited sunlight because light will fade the color out of almost anything, that is also the reasons newspapers turn yellow and fragile if exposed too much. you also must keep moth balls to prevent mothing, moths seem to love old uniforms, and small even match head sized moth holes can make a great change in the value of a uniform, i recomend moth balls rather than crystals, because the crystals tend to scatter..
when looking for information about a uniform, i recomend you carefully look for pockets or zippers that may be hidden from view i cannot tell you how many times these are over looked sometimes you can find neet little surprises in the pockets even addresses and manufaturers tags and dry cleaning slips., i have found ties old news papers and such in these hidden pockets.
collecting uniforms is a fairly inexpensive fun and educating hobby, but although some uniforms may seem dirty i do not recomend washing them even dry cleaning, have fun and happy bidding
