11/2 years ago i was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes! I immediatly went on the low carb no sugar diet. I started out @ 200lbs over 1 year ago and now I am 147 and holding the last 4 months, i am 5 ft 9 in. I was wearing a 16 in pants, now I am a size 8. I only ate around 40-50 carbs a day, no sugar. I know your thinking oh my gosh no chocolate (try sugar free,but only one a day russell stovers is good), no potatoes, no noodles. Well you learn to adjust. I eat no fried foods, only baked or grilled. I do occasionally eat noodles but only a very small amount, I eat half 1/2 a roll or biscuit a day, wheat sliced bread. For potatoes I eat sweet potatoes, I got this approved through my doctor. I do take 2 different diabetes pills a day still, but I pretty much control it by diet. Anyone wanting to loose weight might try this, but it has to be stuck to, you cant quit later and eat lots of carbs because you will probably gain the weight back. Hi , Its me again, almost 5 months later! I am still in a size 8, I did gain 2 pounds though! I promise this works! I am now off my diabetes meds and controllling it with food. I still have problems with my sugar level, but I take the herb cinnamon, and it really helps. Again if you have any questions just email me.
Well its 7 months later I am now 150 and holding! I still do not eat fried foods, no sugar! I am back on 1 diabetes med! I tried to not take any meds didnt work. I do eat more carbs, but not to much more, and as you can see from where I started I gained 3 lbs, better than 200lbs. Again it works! If you need help to lose weight, look for the south beach diet books! Also read food lables, if it has more than 10 carbs and 3 sugar, say no to eating it!
