Breakdancing is a popular and known dance today. Ageing back to even the 80's and 90's. The skills needed for breakdancing can be trained and improved easily. the first steps to breakdancing is stretching, making your body flexible so you can structure your body in such positions. You do not have to be a big muscle guy, since breakdancing doesnt require you to lift more weight than your own. Although, i believe there are two styles in breakdancing you can do both.
Powermoves is one of the styles, these moves requires mostly upper-body strength. if you're interested in spinning in the air, on your hands and feet then this is the style for you. it all takes practice too though, probably at least 3 times a week, just like another exercise.
Freestlyin', what people call it today, is mostly floor work, like up rocks, top rocks and posing, if you dont know what these are then let me put it in an easier concept for you to understand. For these moves you will be moving around on the ground, dancing to the beats or breaks in the music. Posing also known as freezing, you just stop and stay the way you are during that period in time.
speed, endurance, stregnth, flexibility, dedication and passion in break dancing will make you become one of the best break dancers. Just like they say, practice makes perfect. do not expect to see any improvement in the first month or two, but depending on the student, if they try hard and practice enough they will learn most basic breakdancing moves within four to six months of practice.
Breakdancing can be used for exercise or keeping you healthy, staying in shape and discovering that you can overcome gravity. im not saying that you can fly, but you can glide for a moment in time.
