i would like to say about inlay, floormedlions...

my opinion about inlay, that can be beauty and almost all people like them.. that's why who makes it, like me need to make early some decision...

yes a laser is  fast and any time repeatable easy, a scrollsaw really fast  if you make just one, and  the scrollsaw don't burn away the  skinny parts...

but if we want something like bussiness, there is two way, make some really artwork, or just  make a picture or drawing out of wood...

that's why  my opinion for the most makers need to use cnc technology, That can be laser  for fast and cheap, or for some money make it with router...

The router is between  the laser and the scrollsaw somewhere... It will not burn parts, you can cut same detailed like scrollsaw, but it's already for bussiness really...

it can gives you the precisity, with one exemption, the routerbit diameter, but it can be down to 1.2 mm D approx, which one still can cut affordable... the 0.5 or 0.6 R will not showing on a floor for radius, your eyes will see them for sharp...

another point the copyright.... a corporate logo or similar is protected, mean, not available just start to make a lot... But if a customer ask you make it out of wood, then that is a different story...

anyway my opinion if you want to make some money of woodinlays, you have to  use computer, and cnc, the scrollsaw can be a good hobby not real bussiness.. just figure out to cut thoushand and thoushand same part for a full room mosaicparquet and even for the middle a medalion of more hundred parts...

all above is just my dark brain's product... take it carefully :-))
