So far I haven't had any luck yet trying to get my bike paid for, I can't get the transporter to step up and pay for the damages of my 2002 fatboy, that was handled with no respect during shipping. I should have just gone down to Harley and bought new bike, I would Have saved time and MONEY.

Free shipping, has a nice ring for a sale. Beware, the buyer doesn't have control, of who the transporter

is, the seller can use a cheap way of shipping your vehicle. For example: you buy a motorcycle, with free shipping, sounds good, and relieves the stress of finding a way to get your bike from point A to point B.

How sure are you, that the transporter will treat your purchase with the care you would expect?

You can't. A transporter should insure your load, provide a bill of laden when your delivery, has made it

to your delivery destination. Most of all..... INSPECT YOUR SHIPMENT, PRIOR TO SIGNING

FOR BIKE. If your bike comes with no bill of laden from transporter, don't accept shipment.

Here is why, who is responsible for damages to your bike, if there is no Bill Of Laden?

THE SELLER IS! The seller is the one that contracted the shipping of your bike.

If your Seller, tells you it's not his problem, you should contact The department of  Transportation, and

note if you can, the trucking dot #, and Call your Attorney.....

FREE SHIPPING, IS IT WORTH THE BARGAIN, OR A CHEAP MARKETING TOOL?

Update: 9/6/2006 I have reached a settlement agreement with Harley Time Cycle and Power Transport out of Dallas. I was told that they were only going to pay 1500.00 dollars of the 3800.00 dollars it took to fix my bike. I took this offer because I had dealt with this problem for to long, and attorney fees were becoming costly, my mental health of this stress did not help my blood pressure. I was lucky to get anything at all, so beware! Free Shipping on high dollar items, should look at all the options before you commit to that deal. I am glad that I was able to share this

experience that was a learning lesson for myself  and hopefully Ebayers alike.
