Having recently purchased 2 electric guitars from TradeTang (the Chinese e-bay this past July), I can tell you from personal experience that the English words "Truth in Advertising" and "Bait and Switch" are interchangeable in Chinese at their descretion. The words "Consumer Protection" and "Complete Refund if Dissatisfied" also do not translate well into Cantonese. Nope, nada, not one bit.
The merchant feels nothing wrong with sending you a substitution for what is shown in his advertisement without warning or your approval. They show American made musical instruments in their ads but send you counterfeits made by angry Mongols in the Gobi Desert after they get your money.
Their guitars are not the same quality as the genuine article, blatently violate copyright infringement laws, and are not 100% refundable. Do not look to PayPal or your credit card company to help you once the purchase is made. TradeTang is the fox guarding the henhouse folks - you will be on your own.
Buyer beware - be very aware! Buy American!
