When searching for your truck you wish to buy know what size you are looking for. Also there are commercial dump trucks and non commercial dumps. The difference is decided by the Department of Transportation (DOT) . Check your local laws also you may have to pay special impact fees to license the truck in your state or your local government. After you have all the information on what you need to buy go to Dump Truck this will take you to ebay motors were you can input other requirements to select your search. The options are for size, location and distance from you, and price, year model and type of dump truck. Always look before you buy. Never buy sight unseen on a Dump Truck. These vehicles are used to carry very heavy loads in some of the worst conditions and it is very hard on these types of trucks. The pictures will never do it any justice. Always limit your search to an area close enough to you that you are willing to drive to it before you bid. The things to look for is it double framed. Let me explain double framed is when they actually double or over lap two frames on the truck usually from the cab to the rear of the truck. They do this so the truck won,t break into when loaded heavy and coming out of a pit. Many times people will put a dump bed on a road tractor and sell it for a dump truck. The problem is usually they are not double framed so they won,t take the punishment of off road work or construction work. And the rear ends are geared to high so you cannot spread gravel or pull out of a pit. You need the Low gear to pull out of pits or basically the mud you get into. A road tractor will just Break something in this type of work. On job these road tractor dumps could do is Highway asphalt jobs but this will always be a limiting factor. Another item to look at is the motor and horsepower along with transmission type and how well they work. so you should take it for a test drive and check the hoist and dump bed, Remember you get what you pay for. You might have to pay alittle more to get a better truck it will save you money in the long run.make certain if the truck has lights they all work before you leave with the truck and that your tires are dot acceptable trust me you do not want to have new tires put on when you are sitting at a DOT scale house it will be expensive. If the truck ha air brakes make certain the low air pressure warning buzzer works and it has no air leaks. Expect to spend some time looking over the truck make you a check list before you arrive to look at the truck. Do not let the seller rush you this is your money if he wants it he will give you time to check out the truck. And bye all means be satisfied before you buy it if it does not fill right don,t buy. Buying a Dump Truck is usually a big decision and it can make you or break you a couple of big break downs can be very costly so make sure you are buying a good truck.
