VW Jetta Sedan - Mercedes alternative
This guide is for the individual who seeks real value and long term durability . Sure you have your Toyotas and Hondas and they last long and reliably . The Honda Accord and Toyota Camry is the epitome of mechanical reliability in motoring . I've owned both types and can't fault either . They just don't have that certain teutonic feel of the better German made sedans . If you've never driven a Mercedes or BMW none of this will make sense to you . A mercedes or BMW sedan with 150,000 odometer miles will be more solid and rattle-free than all other non German cars . Even the lowly VW brand will share this construction feature in their cars . It's like they are built from a solid block of steel . The cars are remarkably free from tortional stress and flex . This remarkable resistance to flex is the main reason why the VW handles so well . You can drive the Jetta at 80 mph all day long and the car is steady as a laser at those speeds and beyond .
Jetta durability :
The VW brand will outlast any Toyota or Honda on the road today . Sure , any car is as durable as the owner is willing to finance it . The Japanese brands will start out being very reliable and remain so for perhaps a decade . But for a life long ride I will put my money on the VW . The parts are slightly more expensive but the cars have durability engineered into them . Japan made cars have lighter guage sheet metal that is prone to rust . The VW will have a much heavier guage sheet metal that's far more resistant to rust and corrosion . Also after about 10 years of driving , no Toyota or Honda will have the solid feel of a comparable VW Jetta sedan . This is truly a poor man's Mercedes ! These are solid , long lasting cars !
