When R390 sports recives an order for a motor it has been fully gone over and inspected tested, oil pan and valve cover is removed to check for any problems and for abnormal wear or abuse of a motor. once its been checked then the engine will be bench tested and hooked up to a radiator also oil pressure also be checked via a gauge motor is ran for 15min and compression is checked cold and also hot check, this is to make sure that this is the best motor any customer or shop will get from R390sports. All other engine importers in the usa and about 90% in japan only do what is called a "crank" test means only tested off the starter and that is it, hence this is the reason why you see so many people with either a very bad engine problem or a blown motor. when you get a front clip yes you get all the parts you need but its very easy to get a motor that might run good for a short time and fall a part on you.

Inspection process:

Crank test
2. What do you check on the motor before you ship it out?

a-pull off the cam covers
b-oil pan is removed
c-compression checked off the starter
d-oil pan replaced with new gasket
e-oil pan filled up and start tested make shure oil flows to the top of the motor
f-cold compression test
g-motor gets a bath and the oil is drained out so not a haz mat issue with shipping it.

Bench test- same as above but the motor is throughly gone over
once the motor is removed from the car or truck in japan
motor gets in inital inspection and test.

A-Motor is mounted on to a stand
a radiator hoses and water is inserted into the motor coolant passage
oil cooler lines hooked up
engine harness hooked up
Oil press sensor is removed and a oil pressure line is hooked up.
motor is Ran for 15min

this is to check for any rod knocks or any other problmes that might arise during the test of the motor. with all of the checks done on the motor then there is very limited possibility of getting a shot or bad motor.
