Silver Shadow Braking System.
Have you ever wonder why the Silver Shadow more than any other Rolls Royce Model had a tendency of having problems with their Braking System?
Well the fact is that because theses cars usually sits more that they run .
Thus, the DOT 3 , RR 363 Brake Fluid is just damaging the inside of the rubber hose. Because, Brake Fluid is so corrosive.
So, most of the time when the brakes are lock; and quite often at the rear, it is due primarely to the collapsing of the rubber inside of the braking hose that connect to the ridgid line versus to the small ridgid line that connect to the caliper.
The collapsing of the inside of the rubber hose will allow the brake fluid to go to the caliper because of the tremendous amount of pressure created by all the components such as the Master Cylinder and so on; but: there is a BUT.
The same braking fluid that was allow to go to the caliper will not go back in the Brake Fluid Reservoir because of the inside collapsing of the rubber hose; causing restriction and pollution such as dark brake fluid.
When you see dark brake fluid into the sight glass of your Braking Fluid Container, it is a good sign that some or all your rubber hoses are starting to desintegrate by the inside; again cause by the strength of the RR-363 Brake Fluid.
By replacing theses hoses and flushing the entire system might just solve your problem of wheel locking headache.
