I almost got taken by a quad for sale that was a "too good to be true" deal. Lucky for me I caught on before sending money. One way I have found to prevent this is put the ad in your watching file, the scams won't go in there for some reason. They will go in while logged on for that session but if you log off then log back on it will be gone. These people doing this are not very hard to find. The guy that almost got me gave me a name that he said was the European liason for Ebay and the dumb a** gave me his name. When telling a friend about what happened he put the names in some web site and we found them. Both names came up as living in California and gave their address and phone numbers. So I called them and got answering machines but left a message that we were on to them. The guy said he had moved to England and emmision laws would not let the quad into the country and he had 1 month to get it out or the government would seize it, that was why he was selling so cheap. Just like another blog I read the e-mails from the guy were horrible with misspelled words and phrasing that did not make sense. It leads me to believe these people doing this are either young hackers or foreign that speak little english. Be very careful!!! I will only buy large items like quads if I can drive to the person's house and see and ride it before handing over the cash.
