There seems to be some confusion by both buyers and sellers as to the substance of the Porsche CPO Warranty
- It is a factory Porsche Warranty, which may only be initiated by an Authorized Porsche Dealer in the US or Canada
- The CPO Warranty ruins from the date of 1st delivery (to a retail purchaser) for a period of 6 years or 100,000 miles. If the original new car warranty is no longer in effect, the CPO warranty runs for 2 years up to 100,000 miles from the date of sale. Porsche Roadside Assistance is also in effect for the full term of the warranty period
- Only current model year and 8 previous model years are eligible for this program
- The warranty may be transferred to a private party, but not to a dealership. Only an Authorized Porsche Dealer can re-certify the car.
- There is no deductible payable on a CPO warranty repair. Warranty repairs will be made free of charge, for parts and labor, at any Authorized Porsche Dealer.
So here’s a checklist for any Porsche described as Certified Pre-Owned:
- Is the warranty for 6 years or 100,000 miles?
- Will any Authorized Porsche dealer in the US or Canada perform warranty repairs on the car?
- Is the warranty repair performed free of any charge? And without any kind of deductible?
- Is the car less than 9 years old?
- Does the warranty include Roadside Assistance for the full term?
- Is the car being offered for sale by an Authorized Porsche Dealer?
If you are considering a Porsche listed as a “certified pre-owned” ask all the questions above. You may be unpleasantly surprised by the answers.
ALL of the cars offered by IRAmotorsports are Porsche Certified Pre-Owned vehicles and meet every requirement on this checklist. We are an Authorized Porsche Dealer and strictly adhere to the requirements and ethics of the Porsche organization.
