If  you see a motorcycle advertised which is for sale outside the USA then BEWARE.  If they have a ridiculously low price on it or only ask for a few thousand dollars down and if you do not like it you can send it back at their expense then you are looking at a scam.  Others will say it will be delivered to your front door by FEDEX AIR.  Do not believe it.  No motorcycle or automobile is going to be delivered to your front door.  I should know.  I once had a friend get a Honda CB-750 for me on his trip to Japan.  It cost me $1000 new.  It took over three months and I thought I had lost my money not from my friend, but from someone else in the chain.  However, I finally received a letter from the US Customs office in Newark, N.J. that they had a motorcycle for me to pick up.  I went there and I had to have it checked by US Customs and they were ready to take the crate apart with a crowbar .  A workman was there to do this if I said I had had the bike in my possession which I never did.  If I did I think I might not have had to pay duty on it.  However I think they really wanted to check if for drugs.  I told the truth and the customs guy kept asking me if I had ever had it in my possession and of course I did not.  I even said to him Im not sure this is mine as it looks green not blue whereupon he said its the only one on the ship.  So I told the truth and was charged something like $50 custom duty.  The point is no motor vehicles are coming into this country without going through customs.  I suggest if you want a new bike or near new bike go to a new bike dealer where you can see the bike in person and examine it and make sure its what you think it is.  The scam artists will usually put a Harley-Davidson (full dresser or V-ROAD [thats how the scammers spell V-ROD}, or Honda Goldwing, or BMW K1200LT and the bike is supposedly in the UK, Germany, or Italy.  All you are supposed to do is send your money by Western Union .  If you do thats the last you will ever see of your money and you will then relaize there never was a bike for sale .
