As a first time usesr of ebay, I almost was taken!!!  Thank goodness for a good friend who said something was fishy!!  Today I had the unfortunate experience of being or attempted to be scammed on a pontoon I had bid on that Midwest Marine was selling.  I had lost the auction and was surprised to get an email today saying I'd been given a 2nd Chance at buying it for the price I had bid.  It was surprisingly low, one of those things our mother's told us, if it's sounds to good to be true, probably is.  Seller wanted all of my info, which still scares me a little bit, very unsuspecting I was.  Wanted the monies western unioned today, to Florida.  Something sounded Funny, since Midwest Marine is in Missouri.  I asked a lot of questions that never got answered.  When I went on My e-bay, there was nothing in the second chance section that resembled a second chance???????  After talking to a friend who said 99.9% of ebay transactions run through pay pal, I started asking more questions.  When I emailed the so called seller, using the name of Ron Keller, and said ebay says not to western union money, could I come pick it up in MO?  I got a very frank and stern email back from him saying that he wasn't going to do anything unless it was through ebay.  I than received an e-mail from ebays truth and safety division a woman named Sharna, just so happens I was on live chat with ebay and asked if there was a person named Sharna.  Nope!!!!  I emailed the seller and said something didn't smell right and I was going to wait until morning, call Midwest Marine and verify the information.  Well, hard to believe I got another email from ebay(?) saying it was a good deal and I should talk to a Glenn something and email him at yet another email address.  I am very gun shy now and this has given a first time user a HUGE fear of ebay and all of the parties involved.  If you happen to see Hanson7117 selling something, it's a scam and I am not selling anything nor do I plan on doing so at anytime in the near future.  Wow, this really scared me, I almost lost $9000.00 today.  Oh wait, he was going to allow me to send $4000 and than the rest when the boat came.  Beware ebay users, it sure makes this system look very bad to a newcomer.
