The Jaguar XJS V-12 convertible is probably one of the sexiest, and most luxurious exotic supercars on the market for it's very low entry price. It is also, relative to other cars of it's stature, very low maintnence, and inexpensive to own. There is also a large supply of new, used, and remanufactured parts available. It's in my opinion a far better car than the newer, Ford manufactured XK8. For the ultimate weekend car, head turning daily driver, or classic car to add to you collection, the XJS is the car for you. In addition, I would recommend a 5.3L V-12 model. Parts are more readily available, there are more mechanics certified to work on them, and they are easier to work on yourself. They are less complicated, and more reliable than the newer 6.0L V-12 engines in the 1993 XJR-S, and the 1994-1995 XJS. This engine was also used in the 1994-1996 XJ12 as well. The 5.3L V-12, is also much smoother and a lot more fun, and of course a lot more impressive than the 4.0L inline six cylinder models made from 1993 to 1996 in the XJS, and from 1990-1997 in the XJ6. The XJS is now a classic car with prices on the rise, purchase one now while the vehicle is still a terrific bargain. It could be one of the best investments of your life. A 1988-1991 convertible is your best bet. Look for a low milage, southern car in great condition, put the top down, let the powerful V-12 roar, and have the time of your life in your new, classic Jag!
