Are you in the market for a used Chopper, Mastiff, Ridgeback, Pitbull, Bulldog, or the 2006 Bike Of the Year K9? Well Big Dog Motorcycles are a great choice and this guide may just help you find that SPECIAL bike.

THIS WILL NOT BE AN ESSAY!! I WROTE ENOUGH ESSAY'S IN COLLEGE.

What to look for when buying a used Big Dog on eBay:

1. All Big Dog's have computers on them to validate warranty claims. From these computers Big Dog can see at which RPM you have been shifting that motorcycle (these are called electronic footprints), and at what mile you had your services completed. To keep your warranty valid you must have your bike serviced at a Big Dog certified shop. THESE SERVICES ARE IN ADDITION TO YOUR REGULAR OIL CHANGES AND FILTER CLEANINGS!

*I RECOMMEND ASKING FOR AN UP TO DATE COPY OF THAT ELECTRONIC FOOTPRINT BEFORE BIDDING*

-First Big Dog service is to be done at 500 miles- (give or take 100 miles)

-Second service is to be done at 2,500 miles-

-Third service is to be done at 5,000 miles-

-Fourth service is to be done at 7,500 miles-

-Fifth, Sixth, Seventh....etc service is to be done at 10,000 15,000 25,000- (Most Big Dog's have never seen these services!!! BIG DOG OWNERS NEED TO RIDE MORE!!!)

All Big Dog's come with a Factory 2-Year Warranty... So that SPECIAL bike should still have that factory warranty (which is transferable). I also recommend extended warranties from your local Big Dog Dealer. Trust me, they are worth it!

GET THE SELLER TO TAKE PICTURES

TIRES: This may seem silly... But these 300 series tires cost around $350 + Installation!

-Get the seller to take a picture standing directly above the rear tire aiming straight down- (You will be able to see uneven spots on the tire... Look on the right side of the tire... This is usually where the uneven spots occur)

-Also get the seller to take pictures under the bike. (Look for any dents or scrapes on the frame or motor)

-Make sure the seller has kept up on his cleanings! Big Dog's don't come with chrome... 99% of the bike is polished billet aluminum. If the seller has let it tarnish for a long period it will not come off (unless you have hours and hours and hours to spend scrubbing with a toothbrush!) If well maintained polished billet aluminum can look just as nice as chrome.

-Have the seller take pictures of the belt drive. (Look for any stretches, scratches, or shards)

**NEW** Yes Big Dog's are awesome bikes!!! But make sure you test ride that model before placing your bid!!! Rigid frames are not meant for everyone... Be sure that you're going to be comfortable on that future bike of yours.

I WILL ADD MORE AND MORE TO THIS AS IT COMES TO ME!!

Feel free to contact me with any additional questions or concerns.
