Since the price of gas has gotten so high, I cannot believe how much people are bidding on small 4 cyl. cars with high miles. A car that gets 34 or 40 mpg won`t save you any money if you have to spend alot of money on repairs. For example Geo Metros made by Suzuki are like little rusty tin cans, they are made out of very cheap metal. I wouldn`t want one that had over 70,000 miles. It`s true a lot of 4 cyl. cars can run 200,000 miles with proper upkeep, but i know for a fact most people don`t take very good care of their cars. If you are thinking of bidding on any vehicle, email the seller, ask them to pull out the oil dipstick, wipe it clean and see if it has any discoloration marks on it. If they are honest and say yes, you don`t want it . It has not had regular oil changes. While you are at it ask has the timing belt been changed, ask has the transmission fluid been changed? I personally would not buy a vehicle on ebay unless the owner could give me proof of regular maint. Hope this helps save a headache for a lot of people.
