A guide to the size of a Fishing Hook

Here is a simple overview of the sizes of Fishing Hooks

The smaller the hook the higher the number

12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 1

BUT when you are searching for the LARGER HOOKS

The larger the hook the higher the number

1/0, 2/0, 3/0, 4/0, 5/0, 6/0, 7/0, 8/0, 9/0, 10/0

notice the /0 after the numbers. It is important to include this when you ask a seller for this size fishing hook.

Why?

Because if you ordered 100 size 8 hooks and saw they are about 10 times smaller than a size 8/0 you will almost fall over in shock.

size 10 hook is very small size 10/0 hook is very large.
