Having always wanted a fire engine to play with, I bought one off ebay in Maine.  I did not realize how hard it is to find affordable shipping.  I say affordable because almost anything can be shipped for a price.   $8000 to ship a $1900 fire engine was just too much.  My advise, prior to bidding, seek out the full dimensions of the truck including the weight.  Make sure the weight is without water in the tank.  A 500 gallon tank of water adds about 4500 pounds.  Make sure the person takes measurements from the longest points.  Light bars, top mounted sirens, deck guns, ladders hanging off the back, etc, can add quite a bit to the dimesions of the fire engine.  Solicit bids to ship it prior to purchase so you aren't surprised at the price.  The best price I found was about twice as much as I expected.  Also, look for online automotive transport reviews of shipping companies.  I got several very low bids from shipping companies.  I did some online research and found there are many scams in the automotive shipping industry.  In particular, low bid companies quote a very low price, pick up your vehicle, then jack up the price 4 or 5 times the amount quoted.  Then they hold your vehicle hostage until you fork over the extra money.  The online reviews of some of these companies kept me from making a mistake.   Another way to locate shippers for fire trucks is to look by heavy equipment shippers and RV shippers.  Most fire trucks have dimesions similar to large RVs.   Good luck!
