When buying a unibody classic such as a 1965 to 1973 Mustang, it is always wiser to spend a little more money on a good solid under carriage. In my experience over the years, I have seen many people over pay for cars just because the cars were complete and together (not unassembled). Most people never look underneath a car, they just look to see if all the parts are there, if it runs, the interior condition and the tires. In the mean time the car is folding in half  because the frame rails are rotted through. When they get the car home or to the body man, they find out that their easy restoration is going to be a major one, costing thousands of dollars just on the frame, floor pans, torque boxes, inner fenders and rockers. The way I look at it is, I don't care about the chrome, interior, tires, engine or "ginger bread"! To restore the car the chrome will all have to be purchased new or rechromed, the interior will have to be redone and the engine will have to be rebuilt any way, so who cares about that. I want something solid underneath so I can save money in the long run. I purchased my 1966 Mustang convertible in 1990 for the sum of $3500.00 with absolutely no interior, no engine, no top and not one piece of chrome! All I got was a shell, just the body, doors, deck lid and a hood and the deck lid and hood were unusable. The body shell and under carriage were perfect, no rot anywhere! All the money I saved on frame and body work went into the "ginger bread"!
