The other day an ebayer called me about the second chance offer i sent him. The problem is.....i never sent him a second chance offer. Maybe he was a little suspicious to and decided to call me rather than email me. I asked him to send the email he recieved to me so i can examine it and sure enough it was a very official looking second chance offer on a car that was already sold and gone to the winning bidder. It was a very legit looking email that appeared to be through the ebay system, and was supposedly sent from me, but the senders address was NOT mine. it was some third party i never heard of. sure enough a response required login information and a request for a $500 deposit to a paypal account that was NOT mine. I applaud this fellow who tried to call me and see what was happening.obviously someone was trying to heist him out of $500. on a second chance offer you should try to call the seller to legitimize the offer. if a # is not available contact the seller through the ebay system. a proper second chance offer is supposed to appear in your my ebay section.respond to all these items through your my ebay message board and not from these random emails.once you login your personal info to one of these scammers,they have your info. if you have discovered that you have just been a victim of this, change all your passwords. you actually should change your passwords once or twice a year just to stay a step ahead.
