This guide should help in watching prices. If you see a product you like, you should research that item before bidding on it. The fact is that not all sellers are honest. You will find in some cases that you can get the product for the same price if not cheaper from the web page of that particular manufacturer. You will also find that you can buy these products from manufacturer without any shipping charges. From my own personal experiences I have found that not doing the research can cost you hundreds if not thousands of extra dollars. I dont know what your financial situation is , but  I would rather keep that extra money for other purchases.

   The best way to do this is to look for what you want on ebay,  then go to manufacturer web site and check that price. Hopefully ebay will be cheaper, after all it is an auction not a retail outlet. If you find the manufacturer price cheaper contact seller and try to negotiate a fair price. Be careful in doing this because a lot of sellers will  "black list " you from participating in buying any products from them in the future. If  he or she doesn't want to negotiate then that is a good sign of a dishonest seller.

  The next thing you want to do is once you find a product you want at a fair price. Look at shipping charges you will find that alot of deals that look to good to be true are. Because the shipping charges make up for the cheap prices.  This is another sign of a dishonest seller. As i said earlier you will find that alot of manufactures will ship for free.

  Case in point: I went to buy a Snap-On code scanner cable set for 208.00 plus shipping . When i did the research I found that at the Snap-On web site the same cable set was only 115.00 with free shipping. I personally contacted the seller out of common courtesy thinking it was a typing error. The seller then asked me to please check the price of his other items, and i did and found some other items over priced and contacted him again, and the thanks I got was to be black listed from buying from him in the future. And to this day the seller never changed his prices. The point of all of this is to do the research before you bid because if you dont no one will and the sellers will think this is the normal way to do business on ebay. Ebay is a good place to shop if we work together to calm the unfair pricing practices of some of the ebay stores.  I hope this has helped you in some way to protect you from unfair pricing and dishonest sellers.
