eVGA 8800GTS 640mb PCI-Express Graphics Card
This card performs just under the 8800Ultra 768mb card for a fraction of the price. It can handle games like BF2142 to Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter with all the details turned up. We are talking no choppy graphics and large LCD wide screen support including support for HD lighting.
The 8800GTS 640mb supports SLI-mode and adding the second card will put performance through the roof. One of these graphics cards requires at least a 750W power supply or else you risk running low on power for other system devices. I have had 2 of these running off of an 850W power supply for several months now without any trouble at all, while I know of people blowing up 600W and 650W power supplies with just one of these cards, even though the power supplies are “SLI RATED”.
It is also good to have a case with good airflow. If the case doesn't have a good side vent, then these cards will begin to heat the entire PC up. Get something with a good side vent and possibly a fan bringing in fresh air to the card and the overall PC temperature should be ok.
PROS – Sweet card that can really handle the newest games with the settings on MAX.
CONS – Takes a big power supply and a case with good airflow.
