There are many icons (small graphic pictures that represent a something in particular. Usually an icon is something that when recognized a person knows what an item or thing is just from the icon it represents.) that are used here in the World of eBay, and some of them you may be familiar with while others you may not. In this guide I will talk about and show you the various icons that you will see through out eBay and what they all mean. Some have to be earned, (like the highly coveted PowerSeller Icon) so I will tell you what needs to be done to get an "icon" of your very own or what some icons you see mean. This is #1 of 2 guides. Be sure to read #2 as well!

= This is a camera icon that is used when a listing has a picture in it for people to see. Typically you will find this icon next to a listing title in the list of items when you search for an item. You may also know this as a Gallery Image.

= This icon is for PayPal and means that the eBay member accepts PayPal. This icon may be used elsewhere but it's typically seen in a listing.

= The Skype Icon is a method that other users can use to contact one another via chat or telephone.

= This icon is called the Rising Sun and means that a listing was added within the last 24 hours.

= This is the Live Auction icon. Anytime you see this it means the lsiting associated with it is a LIVE Auction.

= This is the Buy it Now icon and anytime you see this on an eBay listing it gives you the opportunity to by the item right then and there without waiting for the listing to end. Quite a convenient feature if you really want something bad or cannot wait for the listing to end.

= This is the Gift icon which means that the eBay member who has a listing with this icon will ship the listing's item as a gift and ship to someone else. Or, it can mean that the item in the listing could make a potential great gift.

= This is the Frame icon which means that the listing's item is visiable in eBay's picture gallery when you search for an item. So, when you search for an item you will see the picture of the item in the listing that comes up in your searches.

= This is a Blue Ribbon icon used in eBay Motors and means that the vehicle listed has been inspected.

= This is the donation icon which means that the listing (eBay user who listed the item) has agreed to donate a certain percentage of the proceeds generated from the sale of the listing to a charity. (Giving Works Program)

In Guide #2, you will find the meaning for 10 more eBay icons so go on and read that one now!
