In order to sell a digital item on ebay, you need to comply with rules laid down by eBay. Some examples that can be included in the category of digital items include a coupon codes for saving online, or a movie sent in the windows media format, plus many other ways a seller can send the buyers an electronic download. If you search for eBay's digital item auctions, you will find e-books and software that include antivirus and anti-spyware programs along with many how to guides including how to make money, how to lose weight, how to be stress free plus many more items. Some more examples of digital items that you can sell on eBay include a self-written guide also called ebooks, digital images, and even a home video recorded by you. It is very important that you own the rights to the digital items you are selling on eBay. If you created the product, you need to make sure and include no resale rights or resale rights included, If you purchased the product, you need to make sure you have resale rights included plus make sure you can resell it with resale rights to your buyers. If you do not have legal right to sell a certain item, I recommend you stay away from selling it. You could end up in court due to copyright infringements.

How Can I Sell Digital Items On eBay?

Sellers need to clearly identify a digital item during the listing process. You are required to provide specific information regarding the digital item. One of the most important things is to list your item in the Everything Else > Information Products. After doing this, you need to choose between the three formats offered by Ebay that includes Auction, Store Inventory, and Buy-It-Now. The two listing types that get the best exposure are Auction and Buy It Now listing. Bidders are less likely to purchase a store Inventory digital item because these this type of listing does not get added to the ebay traffic, you need to create the traffic to it, for exposure. I recommend you use the Buy It Now format rather then having your buyers wait for the end of the auction. 

Delivering Digital Items

One of the easiest ways to send your digital product would be sending it as an attachment through your email. This requires no web hosting, plus many sellers prefer to paste a download link that can take the winning bidder to their own website. A great way to make a quick sale plus drive traffic to their website. Your eBay listing must include delivery details to inform buyers now and when the products will be delivered.
