Guide Update.....
5/13/2007

I've changed my mind about eBay matchups.  They used to have a live chat box, where you interact with other members -it was fun.  Too many people that enjoyed being rude ruined it, and the admins pulled the chatbox indefinately.  Plus, Match-ups is really not family friendly.  There's nothing that prevents users from posting things that you may not want your children to see or read.  It was fun at first, but it's not too much fun anymore.  :-(

Original Guide .......
A fun way to get a little more exposure to your auctions, eBay Match Ups!

BASIC IDEA:
Basically you just pair up any two things of your choice, and then the eBay community votes between the two.  You can compare things that have some relation, or things which are totally unrelated in any way.  You can use the same photo twice and just say vote yes or no, or whatever.  It's good fun.

PHOTOS:
I like to use logos, because they are familiar to people, and quickly noticed.  Plus, most people I know seem to have strong opinions on which they prefer, and there's nothing like having a place to voice that opinion.  Keep in mind that because you are doing this with your eBay member ID, the types of things you submit for people to vote on are a reflection on you, so don't put up anything that's going to make people reconsider checking out what you are selling.

BENEFITS:
You know how much exposure your auctions get if you make the eBay Pulse list right?  Well I imagine this can work in the same fashion, but it just takes a bit more work.  The likelihood of people checking out your auctions increases as you submit more & more Match Ups for people to vote on.  You can increase your exposure by placing a lot of votes, submitting a lot of Match Ups, and writing a lot of comments.  All three things are tracking on a stats chart by eBay.

Check out my Match Ups to see some examples, and then start making your own & having some good fun!  Goto Google and search for "eBay" & "matchups" and you'll find the site.  (Not allowed to link directly to it in this guide).  Good luck!
