This Guide should help you to understand what to expect regarding the eBay 'Item And Description'.
SELLERS: When you post an auction, I believe, your feedbacks are rated upon the 'Item And Description' that you post for your auction. Before you place your item for auction you should first examine it well. If it works 100%, Good. If it has some flaws and you choose to sell it, AVOID posting in your description 'ITEM IN PERFECT CONDITION' as the buyer IS CONVINCED that the ''ITEM IN PERFECT CONDITION' is in perfect condition. Doing this will definitely get you negative feedback. And As you may well know some eBayers use very poor and abusive language when they leave neg. feedback.
BUYERS: My firsthand experience tells me that if you deal with an eBayer with a rating less than 98%, keep in mind that you may have problems with your item, payment, refund, shipping and/or a return transaction. When you see an item you really want, this is what I'll do before I start bidding:
1.) AWLAYS! check out the Feedback Rating first! (Very Important). Stay within the feedback range of 100%-98%. (just a suggestion)
2.) Before you Bid or Buy, CHECK OUT OTHER AUCTIONS AS WELL! You may find your item in better condition from an eBayer with a Higher Rating.
3.) READ THE ITEM DESCRIPTION THOROUGHLY. Many eBayers will sell an item that does not match the description and then post the Famous....'AS IS'. Thinking this will keep them out of Negative feedback.
4.) CONTACT the Seller. If you are SERIOUS on bidding, ASK Questions about the Item. This way they can't say 'You Didn't Ask'.
5.) Remember to Leave the Proper Feedback. First I will let the Buyer/Seller know that I am not satisfied with my transaction (Poor communication with use of abusive speech can cause an eBayer to close his/her account leaving you 'dead in the water'). IMPORTANT!!-Communicate in a professional manner at all times. When you do this, they may try to resolve the issue with a return and/or refund/partial refund. Thus resulting in Positive and/or Neutral Feedback (Neutral Feedback does not affect your rating, but still has the same effect as Negative feedback-Less sales). Always Leave the Proper feedback so the Buyer/Seller can continue to shop with confidence or look for areas to improve as an eBayer.
