I never got ripped off but I see counterfeit 1877 indians every now & then that people pay outrageous prices for.The 2 n's in one cent on the reverse need to be weakly struck on the center of the coin to be real & I often see people buy counterfeits where the last feather on the indian's head on the obverse points between the c & a in america which is an obvious fake.On a real '77 indian the feather points between the i & c in america. Don't be fooled by these fakes.
