Sometimes you may not always know how to complete your listing auction. It may be that the item you have is so rare or obtuse that it's just not possible to do enough background research before you post. Here are some tips to posting those sorts of items:
- be frank and honest in your auction listing- your buyers will appreciate your honesty
- ask buyers to drop you a line if they know what it is. Chances are there will be folks who specialize in that item and they will read your add- take advantage of these experts.
- post responses you receive from buyers - enable that "post question" box when you reply
- put a ? in your title. If you are not sure if it is from WWII you can post: ? WWII
- again, be sure to explain what the ? in your title means within the listing
- be ready to change your listing on a daily basis for the first few days- managing category it is listed in and key words in the title until you get a solid number of views. If you are not getting hits on the item chances are it is still mislisted.
- go to ebay forums and ask for help
- join an online group that specializes in that item and ask for help.
Hopefully it has helped you in listing items for sale.
