about to buy and old harley 1941,seller said it was orig. engine&frame.i knew that old harleys used the engine number as the vin number.he sent me a copy of the title with a frame number.,the vin should have been UXXXX or ULXXXX not 17 digit number he sent me.this was from a harley dealer.i got my deposit back.the dealer never explained the screw up.honest mistake or a scam who knows.
