At this time I cant suggest buying flooring on ebay so far no one sticks to what they say or to what they have listed in their auctions.I wont judge all flooring sales people by the two companies I am reviewing but this guide will hopefully save you the heart ache. I just won an auction from castle-floors located in dalton georgia and the the listing stated 74 cents a sq yard. I want 100 sq yds and the woman michelle who works for the company says she listed it incorrectly and will not honor the price. well to say the least I have reported them to ebay for non performing seller and am thinking about taking them to court to ask the court for specific performance of which you can do with binding contracts.
I have since tried to order flooring from another seller on here who goes by lowe6417 . I was told I could pick up flooring at 45 cents a sq ft. one hour before we leave to make the trip to go pick it up we get a call stating that jerrys boss wont let it go at that price and that the best he could do is 69 cents a sq ft when he has already promised me two colors of flooring and over 600 sq ft at the 45 cents a sq ft. now I have a bid at 45 cents for the sq ft right now.Jerry says he doesnt know if his boss will let it go at that price. ebay is a binding contract however the auction doesnt state what we discussed. good thing I have a recording of jerry offering it to me at 45 cents a sq ft....EITHER WAY SELLERS REMORSE IS A PAIN. He said we would not honor our agreed upon price which was 45 cents a sqft and I cannot recommend you do business with them when they cannot stick to a 3 day talked about deal.3 days we were on the telephone and for 3 days promised the 45 cents a sq ft. so no you cannot trust a seller like this and I cannot by any means tell you its safe to do business with them on ebay.
goes to show that buying flooring on ebay is not a good idea atleast for me so far. make sure you have your deal in writing past the ebay binding contract. get them to fax you a signed agreement for the amount of flooring you want at the price you want. a 2.00 fax will save you time and a ton of hassle. I had already paid the floor guy to lay the flooring and it took me 3 days to get my money back Assuring him that I WOULD sue his rear end off if I did not recieve my money back since there was no flooring to lay. no where on my reciept did it say the deposit /payment was non refundable if it had I would have been out 500.00 because of these flaky sellers. So make sure you cover your rear end and get a faxed signed agreement beyond the ebay contract.
