Why buy restaurant equipment from a local committed dealer? Sure it's easy to throw up a website, tons of kids do it and you don't even need to have the product. Will it get to you in the time that they promise or will it be like the person who sold many, many Bunn granita machines on ebay and never sent them. Sure you can get your money and you're protected but at what cost versus potential savings? I encourage you to work with a dealer who has a real brick and mortar store. They should be listed in white pages and yellow pages. They should exist in a variety of resources beyond just their website. When you call you should be calling a showroom and not Aunt Nan's Daycare.
What will a committed dealer offer you? They sell both new and used. They are a full -service facility that can offer services or local referrals. They have technicians on hand and qualified sales staff.
I encourage you to look at price, I also encourage you to look at value.
Months ago we went through the sales cycle on a dishwasher. The person put in hours of internet searching to find a company who would automate their sale, take the credit card in the middle of the night and ship out the dishwasher at a ridiculously discounted rate. What they didn't say was that there would never be a human to answer the phone or reply to voice mail. Customer service was only a wish.
If you're like me then your time is valuable and it is money. At a certain point I have to say it's worthwhile to buy locally and know that I have a sales person who stands behind the product and will help me when there are issues.
